Have you had a chance to check out the new features that debuted with the web survey new release last month?
If not, make sure you do the next time you log in. Or, if you’re new to Cvent, visit our calendar to see a demo that will walk you through the inner-workings of the tool.
In the meantime, we wanted to share a little bit about one of the many new features: quotas.
We developed quotas to limit responses to surveys to a narrowly defined group based on known information of the respondent and/or information collected via survey questions. The best way to think about quotas is a collection of buckets into which respondents are added. Each bucket has criteria that must be met to enter the bucket. As soon as the respondent has failed the criteria for all the buckets, then he/she is disqualified.
A good example is when a clothing company is planning on developing and launching a new line targeted at 21-35 year old females who work in urban settings. They want to run a public, anonymous survey, promoted via their Facebook page, to test market on clothing styles. To ensure valid data, the company wants only to hear from the target market (gender = female, age >=21 and age<=35, work in urban area = YES), and since they are offering a discount to all respondents, only want to hear from 500 (quota capacity = 500). Anyone who does not meet these criteria should not answer the survey. Those respondents are then marked as disqualified and will be directed to a unique Thank You page.
What could be a better way to reach the target market you’re looking for to take your survey? This feature will eliminate the time and hassle of sorting through the respondent’s after you close the survey to sift out those who do not fit your criteria. Specify who you want to target before you even launch the survey!
